Stock Management Guide pt. 3: Linking Ingredients to Items for Stock Control
This guide will walk you through the process of linking ingredients to items on the Master Stock List for Stock Control Management.
Step 1: Navigate to Item's Stock Management Options
- Navigate to Products > F&B Products > Master Stock List
- Find the Item you want to configure in the Items tab.
- You can search or use the filtering tools to help find your item
- Click the Pencil icon under the Stock column (it will say No by default or if stock management is not needed).
- The Stock Management Options will appear for your item.
Step 2: Linking Ingredient Stock to an Item
- Select your Stock Management option:
- Not Needed - This indicates that you don't require the stock management functionality on this item.
- Basic (Countable Units) - Basic Stock is intended for tracking individual, countable units. It isn't suited for items that consist of multiple ingredients.
- Advanced (Linked to Ingredients) - This allows you to create an item's recipe by accurately linking and managing the various ingredients and their respective quantities.
- Select Advanced (Linked to Ingredients). This will allow you to select which Ingredients are linked to this Item.
- Type in the text field to search for your ingredient faster.
- Click the Add button once an ingredient is selected.
- Do this for each ingredient as necessary.
- Adjust the Unit Used of each Ingredient for the Item.
- This dictates how much the stock level will reduce per item sold.
- You can opt to use 'Apply Full Unit' to use the full unit you set at ingredient level
- Once you have added all your ingredients and measurements, click Save. You item will now say Linked under the Stock column on the Master Stock List.
