Creating Items On The NOQ EPOS/Lite App
This guide will walk you through the process of adding new items to the NOQ EPOS/Lite app.
1. Open the NOQ EPOS/Lite App
- Make sure your terminal is connected to a network.
- Select the menu you want to edit using the Menu Dropdown.
2. Access Menu Edit Mode
- Tap the Edit 📝 button in the top right corner of the app.
3. Add Item
- Tap Action on the category bar, then select Add Item.
- You can click Add to add previously created items or click Create Item to create a new one.
4. Create New Item
Work your way through the simple form to detail your item.
Item Details
- Item Name - The item as it will appear in your menu.
- Item Category - The category your item will be listed under.
- Item SKU (optional) - A unique identifier for your item.
- Has this item got variants? - Variants are good for drink sizes e.g. Large or Small.
- If yes, click Yes then name the variant, set a price and click + to add. Do this for each variant you have for the item.
- If no, skip to Item Price.
- If yes, click Yes then name the variant, set a price and click + to add. Do this for each variant you have for the item.
- Item Price - How much the item is sold for.
- Note: If you are using variants, Item Price will not appear here, prices will be based on variant pricing.
- Description (optional) - Add a short description of your item.
Item Customisation
- Click Taxes to adjust the Tax bracket or toggle taxes off for the item
- Modifiers (optional) - Modifiers allow you to add optional extras to items e.g. extra toppings on a pizza or mixers for spirits. You can assign a Modifier Group to an item here.
Note: Modifier Groups can only be assigned on the NOQ EPOS app. They must first be created in the NOQ Backend Portal. Please view the following guides to create Modifiers and Modifier Groups if you plan to add modifiers to your items.
- Custom Attributes (optional) - Allow you to define dietary requirements and allergens.
Assign Printer or KDS
- Assign Printer or KDS - If you have set up a printer or KDS, you must select one here for the item to use. If you are not using a printer or KDS, you can skip this section.

🚨Alert🚨 If a Printer or KDS is not assigned to the item it will not show on the terminal or print
4. Save and Refresh
- Once you have completed creating you item, hit Save Item.
- After creating all of your items, tap Save Menu on the Edit Menu screen.
- If changes aren’t visible immediately, click the Switch User icon to return to the PIN screen
- Tap Refresh and re-enter your PIN or click Skip (dependent on set up).
