Troubleshooting and Best Practice

Please follow the below instructions for key troubleshooting and terminal care.

Screen Freezing 

In the rare occurrence that your app freezes, please follow these steps. 

  1. Tap the square icon located in the bottom right corner of the screen.

  2. Swipe up on the frozen app to close it.

  3. Reopen your NOQ Epos app

  4. Input your pin or click 'Skip'

Please note: If you experience freezing issues with the NOQ Epos application, we suggest switching to NOQ Lite, as this may help alleviate any network-related problems.

Pre-Opening

We advise powering on your terminals at least one hour prior to the event. This will ensure that any overnight updates are completed before service starts.

  1. Open the NOQ Epos application.

  2. Tap the 'Refresh' button, then enter your PIN or select 'Skip'. This action will ensure that any necessary updates are completed.

Please note: We recommend performing a daily refresh of your terminals each morning to ensure that any updates or changes made overnight are properly applied.


Slow Card Processing/Connection troubleshooting 

  1. To check your connection, look at the top right corner of the screen, where your Wi-Fi or cellular connection status is displayed. To reconnect to your Wi-Fi, tap the circle icon located at the bottom of the screen.

  2. Select the 'Settings' app located in the bottom left corner of your screen.

  3. Click 'Network'

  4. Enter 0241, click continue.

  5. Click 'Wi-Fi'.

  6. Ensure that the Wi-Fi option is activated in the top right corner. If you are successfully connected to a network, it will be displayed at the top of the list of available networks.

  7. To connect to a different Wi-Fi network, choose the network you wish to join, input the password, and then press 'Connect' to establish the connection.

  8. Tap the circular icon located at the bottom of the screen.

  9. Click your NOQ Epos application.

  10. Tap 'Refresh', then enter your PIN or select 'Skip' to proceed with using your terminal.

Standard Practice

We recommend powering off your terminal each night to safeguard the battery and ensure that all devices charge more efficiently overnight. Additionally, please ensure that there are no pending offline orders before shutting down.. 

We encourage you to maintain the terminals in a secure and safe environment:

  • Do not leave outside overnight.
  • Do not leave near liquids or hot liquids.
  • Do not leave in direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
  • Do not leave in hot kitchens.
  • Keep the case on at all times.
  • Ensure that the charging flap remains securely closed over the port when the terminal is not in use.

Charging 

Only use the charging cables and plugs supplied by NOQ to charge your terminals. Before charging your terminals, ensure that the charging port and cable are free from any debris. Additionally, refrain from using the provided cables and plugs with personal devices, as they are specifically designed to be more robust than standard market cables and may lead to compatibility issues.
