Creating Modifier Groups

This guide will walk you through the process of creating Modifier Groups. Modifier Groups are used to assign a group of Modifiers to an Item.

Step 1: Navigate to the Modifier Group Creation Page

The path will vary depending on whether Stock Locations are enabled:

  • If Stock Locations are enabled:
NOQ Backend Portal ➡️ Products ➡️ Stock Locations ➡️ Your Stock Location ➡️ Modifier Groups tab ➡️ Click + Create Modifier Group

  • If Stock Locations are disabled:
NOQ Backend Portal ➡️ Products ➡️ Item List ➡️ Modifier Groups tab ➡️ Click + Create Modifier Group

Step 2: Complete the Create Modifier Group Form

Fill in the following details:

  • Modifier Group Backend Name:

    • An internal name for staff use only (e.g., Pizza Toppings, Mixers).
  • Modifier Group Display Name:

    • This is customer-facing, so phrase it clearly:
      • For questions: "Extra Toppings?"
      • For instructions: "Choose your Mixer."
  • Selection Type:

    • Single Selection: Customers can choose only one option (ideal for mixers).
    • Multiple Selection: Customers can choose several options (ideal for pizza toppings).
      • If selected, you can define a Maximum Modifier Selection to limit the number of choices.
    • Unlimited Selection: No limit on customer choices.
  • Fee Type:

    • Free: No additional charge for adding modifiers.
    • Paid: Set a fee per selected modifier.
  • Add From Modifier List:

    • Select modifiers from your Modifier List and click Add for each one.
    • Optionally, you can:
      • Add Kcal information.
      • Set a Price (if Fee Type is set to Paid).
      • Define a Max Quantity (how many times a customer can add the same modifier).

Step 3: Save Your Modifier Group

Once all details are complete, click Save Modifier Group.

Repeat this process for each required Modifier Group.
