Assigning Printer/KDS To Items & Menu Items

If you're using Printers and/or a KDS to manage orders, you must assign them to your items for proper functionality. This guide will walk you through the step-by-step process of assigning Printers/KDS to ensure your orders are routed correctly.

Step 1: Access the Assign Printer/KDS Screen

  1. Log in to the NOQ Backend Portal.
  2. Navigate to Stores > Your Store Name✏️ > Assign Printer/KDS.

Step 2: Assign Printers and KDS to Items

The Assign Printer/KDS screen displays all created items.

  • Depending on your setup, you may see either Printer or KDS Group and KDS, or all.
  • Important: Each item must be assigned a Printer (or a KDS, if available) for it to appear on the PWA and EPOS Counter menus.

Assigning Printers and KDS

  1. Go through each item and select the appropriate Printer and KDS.
  2. If you have multiple Printers or KDS, choose the correct one for each item.
  3. To save time, assign Printers/KDS at the category level—all items in that category will inherit the settings.
  4. Click Save to confirm your selections.

Saving to Menus

  • After saving, a pop-up will appear, allowing you to apply these settings to your menus.
  • If menus should use the same Printer/KDS setup, select the relevant checkboxes to then click Update to apply the settings across all menus.
  • If different service types (e.g., Online vs. Counter orders) require different Printers/KDS, leave the checkboxes unticked and configure them separately on the Assign Menu page.
    • Example: If Online orders should be sent to a different Printer/KDS than Counter orders, you should configure them individually on the Assign Printer/KDS to Menu Items page.

Step 3: Access the Assign Printer/KDS to Menu Items Screen

  1. Navigate to Stores > Your Store Name > Assign Menus.
  2. Click Edit ✏️ on the Service Type row you wish to edit.
  3. Click Assign Printers and KDS to Menu Items on the menu you wish to edit.

Step 4: Assign Printers and KDS to Menu Items

  • If you applied your Printer/KDS item settings to your menu in Step 2, this step may already be completed.
  • However, if you need different Printers/KDS for a specific Service Type, specify them here.
  • Important: Each menu item must be assigned a Printer (or a KDS, if available) for it to appear on the PWA and EPOS Counter menus.

  1. Go through each menu item and select the appropriate Printer and KDS.
  2. If you have multiple Printers or KDS, choose the correct one for each item.
  3. To save time, assign Printers/KDS at the category level—all items in that category will inherit the settings.
  4. Click Save to confirm your selections.

Final Step: Refresh the NOQ EPOS App

Once you have finished assigning Printers and KDS to Items and Menu Items, refresh the NOQ EPOS app to apply your updated settings.
